Approve Metaobject Studio permissions

Why you see a permissions banner

Metaobject Studio needs optional Shopify scopes that are not always granted at first install:

• Read/write metaobject definitions
• Read/write metaobjects (entries)

Your shop can use metafield editing without these. They are requested when you open Studio (or a Studio-only scan).

Steps

1. Open Metafields and Metaobjects → Metaobjects Studio.
2. If a warning banner appears, click Approve permissions (App Bridge modal in Admin).
3. Review the requested access and approve.
4. Wait for the page to refresh / reload the Studio hub.

If the modal does not open, use the fallback grant access link shown in the banner, complete Shopify’s permission screen, then return to the app.

After approval

• Definition and entry create/edit should work.
• Studio-related Data Doctor scan types should be available (subject to plan).

If actions still redirect with a flash about permissions, sign out of the embedded app session, reopen the app from Admin, and try Approve permissions again.
