Shopify Category Taxonomy explorer

What it is

A read-only browser for Shopify’s Standard Product Taxonomy (official category paths and IDs). Use it to find the correct category before you assign it in Admin or in a product CSV.

Steps

1. Open Data Doctor → Shopify Category Taxonomy.
2. Type at least two characters in search.
3. Open a result to see the full breadcrumb and taxonomy identifiers used in Admin / CSV / APIs.
4. Assign the category on the product in Shopify Admin, or include it in Shopify’s native product CSV import.

How this ties to scans

• Coverage scans can list products missing a category.
• AI Category Suggestions picks from this same official taxonomy.
• Category Attribute Gaps only applies to products that already have a category.
